Igniting Entrepreneurship

Wednesday, January 18, 2017
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

1065 Kemper Hall

This quarterly networking series showcases local entrepreneurs who have successfully launched companies based on their research.

Cristina Davis, a UC Davis professor in engineering, will discuss her experience with co-founding two UC Davis-affiliated startups, XTB Laboratories and SensIT. She has a long history of creating novel solutions to problems in the fields of medicine, defense, agriculture and veterinary medicine. Davis holds seven patents that have been licensed and developed into product lines. She recently received the Chancellor's Innovation Award and took home the grand prize at the Ag Innovation Showcase, the leading national agtech conference.

Vincent Chun is vice president of both RF Biocidics and its parent company, Allied Minds. Chun will discuss the market for startups in cutting-edge food safety technology.

All UC Davis students, researchers, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend, as well as those in the greater Sacramento region interested in food and agtech. A networking session with refreshments will follow the seminar.

Igniting Entrepreneurship is in partnership with UC Davis' Venture Catalyst and the Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
