A series of events for fostering uncommon collaborations around ideas and technology to better feed the world

The three-day Summit will bring together entrepreneurs, farmers, industry executives, researchers, students, investors and technology developers in an out–of-the-box format. Bridging silos, crossing disciplines and fusing new partnerships, the events aim to uncover solutions for feeding 10 billion people on a rapidly changing planet.

Tuesday, December 1

Meet representatives from the top industries in California agriculture and tour a UC Davis wine production facility at this special-invite meeting with the World Food Center



Wednesday, December 2

Generate ideas for action on the greatest challenges facing food and ag, hosted by the The Mixing Bowl Hub and the Innovation Institute for Food and Health. Prizes totaling $6,000 will be awarded for the top ideas.

IIFH is also hosting a series of workshops leading up to the summit and a call for innovation proposals in January 2016



Wednesday, December 2

Join a tour of leading process and technology innovations in food and ag systems around the greater Sacramento region.

From farm to lab to topics including: water and energy efficiency, precision ag, food processing, waste management, value addition and biological crop input R&D. Jointly hosted by venture incubator AgStart, Yolo County and the World Food Center.



Wednesday, December 2 to Thursday, December 3

Develop software tools as technical solutions to grower challenges in a two-day hackathon run by Apps for Ag and the World Food Center. Prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded for the top apps. Open to software developers, ag experts and entrepreneurs. 



Thursday, December 3

Network with the region's top tech leaders, startup visionaries and research pioneers in a showcase of thought leadership and innovation.

The session includes fast-pitch presentations with prizes and expert panel discussions on "The Prominent Challenges in Modern Food, Agriculture and Health" and "Technology Translation Solutions."
