Processing Tomato Conference

December 13, 2018 | UC Davis

In collaboration with Seed Central, the World Food Center hosted a day-long conference for the tomato processing industry that brought together the main actors in Northern California's tomato value chain. The conference featured presentations from UC Davis faculty developing key research for translation to the tomato industry, as well as facilitated brainstorming discussions around the industry's major issues. The goal of the conference was to bring about a joint approach towards pre-competitive solutions in the tomato processing industry.

The conference attracted more than 150 attendees from the region, including industry stakeholders and UC Davis academic experts. In the evening, the conference opened to the general public for a panel on the job landscape in the processing tomato industry, which featured nine industry professionals and closed with a networking social.
